Since the pair of Sonakshi Sinha and Saif Ali Khan performed well in the film Bullet Raja, the filmmakers of Batla House believe that Sonakshi is the right choice alongside Saif.
Operation Batla House was an encounter against Mujahideen terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi that was carried out on September 19, 2008. This incident stunned the nation as Delhi Police inspector and encounter specialist Mohan Chand Sharma, who headed the police action was shot dead during the encounter. In this operation, two suspected militants were gunned down and two others were arrested, while one of the accused terrorists managed to escape.
Sonakshi agreed to work on this project since she liked the script. The film director Nikhil Advani wanted an older and experienced actor to play the role of Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma so he proposed Saif for the role. Saif has not signed for the film yet but he is too impressed with the script.
After the disaster of Rangoon movie, the National Award winner Saif is now working for two big releases ‘Chef and Kala Kandi’ and Nikhil Advani’s ‘Baazaar’.
Sonakshi who was last seen in the movie Noor is also busy shooting for the remake of 1969 murder mystery film Ittefaq.
It is interesting to know that Nikhil was earlier thinking to make a film on the Operation Blue Star but he dropped this idea saying that he would not be able to live in India after making this controversial film on Sikhs. The people of Punjab known to him told him not to even think about it.
The director is of the opinion that Batla House is a film that is quite relevant and topical. Earlier, he has produced the film ‘Lucknow Central’ that was released on 15 September 2017.
