Story:

Secret Superstar is a musical drama film whose producers are Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. It is directed by Advait Chandan and stars Aamir Khan, Meher Vij, Zaira Wasim, and Raj Arjun in lead roles. The film features the story of a high school girl Insia (Zaira Wasim) who wants to become a singer.

REVIEW:

If Aamir Khan is supporting a film then you definitely expect quality.  He has played the role of a rude music director called Shakti Kumar that catches your attention. Insia’s father is her dream to become a singer. So to satisfy Insia her mother gifts her a laptop. Taking advantage of it she records a song and uploads it on YouTube that grabs the attention of Shakti Kumar.

Aamir Khan is a scene stealer and his presence is enough to keep the film going. But his generosity is evident as he never attempts to steal the limelight from the central character young Zaira who is an absolute pleasure to watch.

Meher Vij who has played the role of the mother of Insia does so much for Insia without speaking about it. Other characters like Chintan (Tirth Sharma) and child-actor Guddu (Kabir) are also delightful to watch.

Amit Trivedi’s music is pleasing but the film did not score the expected mark to be a hit. In overall, the film appears ordinary and is meant for girls.
