Alka Lamba was born on 21 September 1975 in New Delhi.She was elected as the President of Delhi University Students Union in 1995, and in 1997 she was appointed as the President of all India NSUI.After serving for INC for twenty years, she quit the party and joined AAP.  In February 2015, she won the Delhi Legislative Assembly election from ChandniChowkconstituency on AamAadmi Party’s ticket.

Lamba started an NGO called ‘Go India Foundation’ in 2006 to encourage youths to participate in the political, social and economic development of the nation. Her most notable work is the blood donation campaign organized by this NGO in 250 districts of India on 15 August 2010.  This campaign was promoted by famous Bollywood stars like Salman Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Aamir Khan, Dia Mirza etc. as a result of which 65000 people donated their blood.

Shruti was also a member of the Lok Sabha committees for agriculture and empowerment of women. She got defeated in the 2014 general elections due to lack of leadership skills and less development work done in her district.

Harsimrat is the wife of the president of Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal.  At present,  she is the Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing in Indian government. All of us must be surprised that despite belonging to a different party how she has been appointed as a cabinet minister by honorable PM Mr. Narendra Modi?

She has defeated INC candidate Raninder Singh by 120960 votes in the 2009 Indian general elections.  She had also expressed concern about the anti-Sikh riots in 1984 and participated in a project called “NanhiChhan” to save girl child and trees. She again won the MP elections in 2014 by defeating the joint candidate of congress and people’s party. So for this reason, Modi government decided to appoint her as a cabinet minister.
